Marcus and Sam

Marcus and Sam’s wedding was special. I know all weddings are special, but every now and again you come across a couple who radiate love and it travels through all their friends and family as well. By the end of the night I wanted not to just be Sam and Marcus’s wedding photographer, I wanted to be their friend! They first came to me as they like my editorial style and wanted photos that were real and also captured Queenstown’s colours and scenery. I didn’t really know who they were, but started hearing their names more and more around town. Marcus is something like a third generation Queenstowner, which is unheard of, and Sam runs Orange Productions, one of Queenstown’s busiest event companies. I felt very privileged they’d chosen me to photograph their special day, as I’m sure they could have had their pick of local photographers. So on the day, I did my best to use my documentary experience and look for the moments, both big and small. And also the beauty, because there was soo much love and funĀ at their wedding from all directions! The result is a collection of photographs that I think will stand the test of time. Thanks again for inviting me to be part of your day Marcus and Sam. It was an absolute pleasure, and let’s catch up for a coffee soon:)
