We were lucky enough to be invited over to Mt Nicholas station, a high country station on the far shores of Lake Wakatipu, to shoot this nostalgic wedding film set in a time when love was innocent and true.
We really wanted to showcase the raw beauty of the station which has been largely untouched by development and tourism, yet is only a 40 minute boat trip away from the rush and bustle of downtown Queenstown.
Our inspiration was the station. We imagined a young farm-hand had met a beautiful girl at the village dancehall and they’d fallen in love. At the end of the night he asked her to marry him and she said yes. Months later she leaves her life behind to travel across the lake to marry her true love on the station.
